Easter Blessings!

Last weekend was an annual event that I am always happy to participate in. It's a tea and fashion show where all the proceeds go to my favorite preschool! I was asked by my best friend if I would decorate two tables for the event and was more than happy to do so! Here's a peek at the tables I was responsible for. I hope to share more photos of some of the other tables that were decorated, because there were some really cute ideas!

Wishing all of you a beautiful, peaceful, Easter weekend. Hoping you are able to spend time with the ones you love!

Dreams Come True....

Hello Dear Beauties! How long has it been anyways? Too long, I know. I'm not sure I even have anyone interested in following me anymore, and for that I am truly sorry. I know that if you want a good blog one should post regularly, and have interesting topics so people will listen. Seems like for the past almost has just been busy.  I have thought many, many times about just shutting down my blog, but so far I just haven't had the heart to do so.
I've met so many wonderful people over the years, and have made numerous friends as well.
So...For those of you that haven't given up on me, here is what I have been up to.
I'm enjoying making/creating dream catchers....

And I'm even dabbling in painting!

So much has happened over the past year! My 2 grandchildren Julie and Ray are growing like weeds, and healthy...what more can a Mimi ask for? My daughter is blessing us with another grandchild in late October, so we are beyond thrilled to be welcoming another love into our family this Fall!
My son Frankie who served 8 years in the US Army as a Staff Sgt. has recently completed commercial helicopter training and is now a certified pilot! I am so incredibly proud of this huge accomplishment! He was able to use his GI Bill to pay for his education and for that am very, very thankful. Now...Is anyone in need of a helicopter pilot?

My daughter Sara, who is a licensed esthetician,  has been working for many years as a spa coordinator/front desk manager. I recently was informed that her incredible new boss wants her to actually start training so she can use her education and start training in the skin care industry! I've had facials from Sara in the past, and she is a natural. I am so happy that she has a mentor who believes in her talents as much as I do. Thank you Michelle!

This past December I was honored to have my home featured in the Spring issue of Romantic Country magazine! Last summer stylist, author, and mentor of my own...Fifi O'Neill and her wonderful photographer Mark Loman were her in Northern California when it was something like 150* in the shade. Well, I might be exaggerating a tad, but it was at least 105. Here are some of the photo's from Fifi's blog that she featured of our home.

My daughter Maggie made the chocolate cupcakes for Mark and Fifi, but they wouldn't touch them until they took a picture of them!

I had a wonderful visit with Fifi while she was at our home. We talked a lot about the industry, and how hard she works! She really and truly blew me away. She's so talented, and works so incredibly hard! I am very happy to help spread the word on her new issue of Prairie Style coming out in May. If you would like to pre-order in bulk, they may be ordered Here. Or for single copy issues go HERE.

These are just a few of the "teasers" I can share for the upcoming issue!

Doesn't it just look amazing? I promise...You will not be disappointed! Fifi's publications are always brimming with yummy inspiration, and are very collectable. They are issues that I will keep forever!
I have pre-ordered mine, I do hope that you will do the same! Lets support Prairie living at it's finest for inspiration as well the opportunity to view so many gifted artists from around the country!

Where I create has a new look!

Welcome back. It has been months since I have posted anything, and I have really missed you all!

It has been a very very busy Spring and Summer here at the French Hen! I retired from my job, and had my Red House photographed by The Fabulous Fifi and her extremely talented photographer Mark.
Here they are! What a thrill for me and my husband. They were so much fun! I feel truly humbled they photographed our home!
I will treasure this picture forever Fifi, so thank you!

The day flew by. In fact they ran out of time to photograph my little milk house. Well, that's OK! I knew that Where Blogger's Create was coming up so I photographed my little studio by myself.
Please come in!
I have been collecting wedding dresses, veils, and pretty much anything associated with "wedding"  for a few years now. So I have turned my little cottage milk house into a sort of boudoir/creative space!
I hope you enjoy visiting my labor of love.

The canopy above the little bed was made from a large vintage lamp shade and a very long wedding veil.

The dust ruffle on the bed was made from a wedding gown slip.

I'm having fun making hair-wreaths!
A beautiful satin gown and a bohemian style wedding dress hanging behind it were thrift store finds!

I'm also enjoy vintage lingerie. So much fun to dye and embellish!

sweet little tissue bag!
To the right is another vintage gown that my dear friend Karen sent me. She is such a doll! The vintage slips hanging are some that I have been working on, and the mannequin on the left is my newest purchase. I was so happy to find this!

The back door.

The French doors.

Once upon a time cows were milked in this tiny little space of mine!

Now it's my place of refuge. A place to play, relax and create!
