Birthday Celebration In The Beautiful Napa Valley

Our dear friend April, my daughter Maggie, the birthday girl Sara, and my beautiful niece, Jen.

Happy Monday everyone! Well, I can honestly say that I am NOT as young as I used to be. My age is finally catching up with me, and I have never felt the need to say that before! Not after spending 3 days wine tasting and celebrating my daughter's 31st birthday in the Napa Valley.

 Maggie, me and Sara.

We surprised Sara on Friday afternoon after I got home from work, by telling her to pack her bags because we were having an all girl weekend in Napa. My niece Jen is in the wine industry, (she's the youngest national sales rep in the U.S.) and had the entire weekend planned out with meals and wine tasting.

The Napa Valley, about 2 1/2 hours north/west from where I live, is known throughout the world for its spectacular vineyards, wines, restaurants and incredible landscape!

Jen works at a resort/winery. The resort is the Miratage, the winery is Trinitas. The resort is absolutely gorgeous and is home to the only spa and wine cave combination in the entire world. When you enter the caves you are 65 feet below ground. You are able to receive a facial, massage, or nail treatment, and taste wine at the same time!

We started Saturday morning at Mumm. After the limo picked us up of course!

Then we stopped at a deli where we had ordered our picnic lunch from and off we went! Here are some of my favorite shots from the weekend.

When we got back to Jen's home Saturday afternoon, her wonderful husband Dan proceeded to make us a fabulous dinner, he just happens to be a wine expert and gourmet cook!

I think the girls are holding me up here! By this time I was EXHAUSTED!!!

Here's my girls and the limo driver James heading back to the car so we can hit another winery. Oh what fun we had!

Sara said it was one of the funnest birthdays she has had yet. I know I really enjoyed spending quality time with my daughters, niece, and good friend. I recommend Napa to anyone who lives in California, or if you are able, plan a trip there! My niece Jen can totally hook you up with some of the finest tastings and restaurants in the world!

Reorganizing The Cottage

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a happy week so far. I have been busy making plans for my daughter Sara's 31st Birthday, but I can't share what I'm up to just yet. Her Birthday is on Friday, and her sister, cousin,  best friend, and myself have BIG PLANS in the works! I will share the details later.

In the meantime... I have also been reorganizing the cottage, a place that I call my own. My creative space and guest room.  I'm hoping that this summer while I am off from work I can paint the walls and the concrete floors.

Come On In!

I know, I know. I have a long way to go. But at least the Christmas stuff is back in the cupboards and I  can walk from one side of the room to the other again.

Thanks for stopping by! I am linking up with Sarah at A Beach Cottage for Good Life Wednesday.  If you haven't visited Sarah before, It's time you did! She's adorable, and so is her Aussie Beach Cottage.

Blessings... And a little sunshine!

A Pink Plea For Your Prayers!

How is everyone? I am OK, but having a stressful week.  I haven't really been in the mood to do much of anything.  I know many of you are familiar with my "favorite thrift-store" that I mention over and over in my blog. Well, one of the sweet sales clerks who I have talked to many, many times when I go in there, and just happens to be 8 months pregnant, is going through something unimaginable right now.

Her 4 year old son, Juliani has been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend.  An Amber Alert went out on Tuesday,  but I had no idea it was my friends little boy until I went into the thrift store and saw the huge sign they have up behind the register asking for prayers that her son be found safe.

I have never been able to understand how someone could harm a child.  This just breaks my heart.  Our hometown had to deal with Scott Peterson killing his wife Lacy and unborn son 10 years ago.  The whole world cried for Lacy and her baby. She lived less than a mile from my house.

I am asking that you keep Juliani in your prayers today.  Tabitha needs her little boy home.  I am deeply saddened to say that there is an emergency crew sweeping the canals searching for the car that he was last seen in. A farm worker believes he saw a car matching the description drive into the Delta Mendota. Deep, dark, and fast moving water. They have pulled 4 cars up, each one a stolen vehicle. This is a very dangerous job for emergency personnel. Please keep them in your prayers as well.

And pray that this little angel, Juliani, comes home to his mother.

Thank you Beverly for letting me post about this tragic event happening in my community.  Our Pink Saturday family is a beautiful, supportive group of women who I know will keep this child of God in their thoughts and prayers.

Blessings,

Bless Your Sweet Pink Hearts!

Hello Sweet Lovelies! Over the holidays I know many of you saw the Anthropologie felt garlands. Either you received one,  made one for your self, or maybe you saw someone elses.

My daughter had one for me to look at, so I decided to use that idea for a Valentine garland. The cost of felt is only 29 cents, and the wide ric-rac was a couple bucks. The most time-consuming part of course was cutting out the hearts. But since I am completely CONSUMED with the FX series Damages, cutting those puppies up were a breeze! Have you seen Damages? It is so GOOD!!!

Any-who. I made one to see how it would look, and I think it turned out kinda cute.

I may just make more to hang around the house.  I kinda went overboard with cutting out the hearts.

I'll probably make another for my Valentine tree.  As long as my pine tree is living it will be my St Paddy's tree, Easter tree, and 4th of July tree as well.

I also want to remind any of you who want to join my GIVE AWAY that it ends Sunday. Just go here to enter, because time is running out!

I do appreciate each and every one of you!  Thank you for making my first year blogging so darn special...And a HUGE thank you to Beverly for her Pink Saturdays. Being a part of this weekly event has brought me closer to all of you, and has also taught me so much about blogging and life in general!

So.....

THANK YOU!!!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I have a 3 day weekend!  I'm glad, because I really need to clean my house!

Blessings....

The French Regions

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a fabulous week! I wanted to share this really cool apron that my sister got for me for my birthday last month.

Sorry about the quality of my pictures. In my next life I will own an expensive camera and I will actually know how to use it! People from all over the world will want to hire me because I will be a very famous photographer!

But in the mean time.....

My sister Shawn knows how much I love the French region and wine.

One thing that I love about this apron is that the map shows the direct line of towns that I stopped at while in France.  From Paris to Marseille, my train stopped at each destination. While it made for a long journey, I was able to see all the small french villages while on my southern excursion.

I hope someday I can go back again. There is so much to see, taste, and drink!

And the regions are color coded... How clever!

I did love Paris the most however.  The food was fabulous, and contrary to what some may think, the people were just lovely.

I love to pair wine with my menu.  And somehow, ( in my opinion) champagne is always good with everything!

Just a reminder to enter my GIVE AWAY that ends this Sunday January 16. I'm celebrating my first year blogging!

I'm linking up to Kathleen's White Wednesday and to Cindy's Romantic Home Show and Tell Friday.

Please be sure to stop and visit all the other lovely and inspiring blogs, you are what keeps me going!

Thanks for stopping by, Blessings!
