The Beauty In Resiliency

Bonjour Beauties!

First off, a quick picture of Julie Mae. She woke with a fever yesterday and not very happy! This is her, after her fever finally broke, lying on the couch watching "Yo Gaba Gaba".
My daughter said that it wasn't long after this photo was taken that she was up running around back to her old self!

How do children bounce back so quickly?

My thrift store metal cart.
As adults, we aren't so resilient.

Dealing with pain and sorrow after being hurt by someone we love takes time to recover.

No matter if you are a young teen in love, or a seasoned veteran.

Vintage lingerie from thrift stores, garage sales.

A broken heart still hurts just the same.

With time we recover and hopefully grow stronger, maybe a little bit wiser, and more protective of one of our most important qualities....

our willingness to try again. To take a leap of faith takes strength,

And the belief that God is with you, with His loving arms around you.

I love to paint vintage suitcases.

Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement from my last post. And if I may update a tad bit on the situation, I will simply say that the decision to give someone a second chance or not is always a difficult choice. And supporting someone you love with that decision is even harder!

My mother still tells me how she worries about all her children.
My mother is 87. I'm 54. My daughter is 31.

Concern for our children never goes away. No matter how old we get!

My little bed is actually an Army Cot circa 1957, found on the side of the road!
Thank you for listening my beauties. These pictures were taken in my little cottage, while playing with the camera and getting ideas on my knew business venture.

I just had to include this picture of my dad who will be 90 this year, holding my grandson, his great grandson Raymond. My dad actually knitted Raymond's little hat he is wearing! Dad loves to knit, and has been doing it for many many years. What a treasure.

Have a wonderful week!

Mending A Broken Heart

Dearest Beauties,

How does the song go?

"How do you mend a broken heart?"

Someone very close and dear to my own heart has had hers broken again.

I know this is part of life, it makes us stronger.

But can anybody explain to me why such people have to come into our lives again and again and cause such pain and sorrow?

Why is it that the one person who has been hurt so many times, and just wants to meet someone who will make her happy, be honest, someone she can trust...

Is instead greeted by another dishonest human being.

I just want to know why they have to come into our lives at all.

Do honest, loving, caring men exist anymore?

My prayer and my wish for my sweet, sweet daughter is that God will one day bring her someone worthy of her heart.

I pray that everyone is so lucky.

Just who owns this love seat anyways?

Happy Weekend Beauties!
Another week has quickly gone by, and before I leave to go babysit my granddaughter Julie Mae for the weekend, I want to share some pictures of my new loveseat.

That is, my new love seat that the dogs think is theirs!

It wasn't 5 minutes before both Cowboy and Bella claimed the back of the sofa as theirs.

We even moved the old couch in front of the dining room window in hopes that they would like the view of all the birds in the yard....But No. They like the new couch better.

Cowboy says he can see the birds just fine from his new seat in the house.

So here are some pics of the living room area with the dogs new loveseat, I mean my new love seat.

I'm excited for Spring time and the abundance of flowers!

I got a horseshoe at the Sacramento Antique Show last weekend. Maybe it will bring me some luck!

I actually feel very very lucky to have discovered the world of blogging and have met such amazing people! Thank you for your comments and friendship!

I'm linking up with the wonderful Beverly over at How Sweet The Sound for another Pink Saturday.

Have a fabulous weekend beauties, I'm thrilled to have 3 days off!
